Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between short and long strikethrough?
They use two different Unicode combining characters. Long stroke (U+0336) draws a line right across the full glyph and reads as a bold cancel; short stroke (U+0335) is a narrower bar that looks lighter and more subtle. Pick whichever sits better over your font.
Will the strikethrough survive copy-paste?
Yes. The line is not styling that gets stripped — it is a combining character baked into the text itself, so it travels with every copy and paste into bios, posts, chats and documents that accept Unicode.
Can I strike through emoji and numbers?
Yes — the combining mark attaches to any character, including digits and most emoji. The bar may sit slightly off-centre on wide emoji or render inconsistently across devices, so preview before relying on it.
