Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between Glitch and Zalgo?
Same Unicode trick, different dial. Glitch caps combining marks at three per character so the underlying letters stay readable — a clean "corrupted" aesthetic. Zalgo runs all the way to intensity 10, where the text becomes an unreadable spill of marks. Use Glitch when people still need to read it.
Can I customize the glitch style?
This tool is deliberately three presets — Subtle, Medium, Wild — with no sliders, so you pick one and copy. If you want to tune the intensity and choose mark positions yourself, the Zalgo Text tool exposes the full controls.
Will this work in Discord, Instagram and other apps?
Yes. Combining marks are core Unicode, so glitched text pastes anywhere that accepts text — Discord, Instagram, usernames, chats. A handful of spam filters strip heavy mark counts, but Glitch's low three-mark cap usually passes through fine.
Why is the text still readable?
By design we never stack more than three combining marks on a character, so the base letter stays visible underneath. That cap is exactly the line between Glitch (readable, aesthetic) and Zalgo (intentional chaos).
