A line drawn straight through your words — that crossed-out effect is the entire trick here. Strikethrough Font appends Unicode’s combining character U+0336, the Combining Long Stroke Overlay, after every non-space character. The overlay draws a horizontal bar through the glyph it follows, so o̶l̶d̶ p̶r̶i̶c̶e̶ reads as deliberately cancelled text. No styling is involved; the line is part of the characters themselves.
How The Combining Stroke Works
Each visible character receives its own invisible overlay mark immediately after it, and that mark renders the line through the preceding glyph. Spaces are intentionally skipped so the bar does not stretch across gaps and split into disconnected segments. The result looks like a single continuous line over words, while quietly being many individual combining marks under the hood.
Letters, Numbers And Symbols
Because the overlay attaches to whatever precedes it, the effect is not limited to letters — digits and punctuation get crossed out just as cleanly. That makes it ideal for cancelled figures and edited symbol-heavy strings. One quirk: a few extra-wide glyphs render the stroke at slightly different widths, a universal display behaviour rather than anything specific to this tool.
